Delhi earthquake: Massive quake of 7.7 magnitude hits North India





An earthquake hit North India today, which was measured at 7.7 magnitude on Richter scale today. From Kashmir to Delhi, the entire region saw panicked people running out of their houses and other establishments.


The epicentere of the earthquake was in the Hindukush region in northeastern Afghanistan on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, sending earthquake that was felt as far away as in India and in neighbouring Pakistan.

The earthquake tremors continued for a long time. The earthquake is continued for as long as 4-5 minutes.

Aftershocks are expected. People are advised to seek shelter, but move out of unsafe buildings.
At the moment reports of damage or injuries have not been reported, but as the earthquake was massive, the damage in terms of human loss of life and  other properties is expected to be huge.
The quake was 196 km (120 miles) deep and centred 82 km (51 miles) southeast of Feyzabad in a remote area of Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountain range. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
