YBNL boss, Olamide, has revealed why he is yet to sign a female artiste to his record label. The talented rapper is the CEO and brain behind the rise and rise of this Record Label which has artistes like Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Viktoh, Chinko Ekun & Xino Kuti.
The 26-year-old father of one made the announcement during an interview with Hip Tv recently. According to him, he won’t be signing any female artiste for a while because he believes female artistes tend to have a short life span in the Nigerian music industry. Olamide, who lost his father some days back, has on his label successful male artistes such as Lil Kesh and Adekunle Gold. With Olamide’s YBNL dominated by male artistes, and the likes of Lil Kesh and Adekunle Gold already making a strong stand in the music industry, the rapper has shut down the chance of having a female artiste in the label. Olamide added that the only reason he will ever sign a female artiste was if she has hunger for success as he does.
Olamide is currently celebrating the success of his latest album, Eyan Mayweather which beat Adele’s Hello to the no.1 position on iTunes.
