Court Order Police to give N2 Million to Evan's Brother
According to new report, the Federal High Court in Lagos has awarded N2million to Notorious kidnapper kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans' brother-in-law, Mr. Okwuchukwu Obiechina, for wrongfully arrested by the Nigerian police force.
Justice Mohammed Idris revealed that Obiechina’s arrest and detention by the police was unconstitutional while giving his ruling In the suit filed on Tuesday last week, after Obiechina and his wife, Nzube, had challenged their illegal detention by the police, with claims that they had been in detention since the 2nd of June 2017 because of their relationship with Evans.
It was gathered that the couple had listed the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, the Nigeria Police and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) as co-respondents to the suit, according to reports. And Justice Idris who ruled in favour of Obiechina, stated in the court that the detention was unconstitutional and that the remand order the Police claimed to have secured from a magistrates’ court was invalid.
